Don Mangus

Don Mangus (born November 8, 1955) is an American teacher, artist, and comic book historian.

Mangus was born in Washington, D.C. He is a published writer and former Design, Painting, and Drawing instructor (at Eastfield College, from 1981–1996). He has both a BFA and a MFA (in painting) from Southern Methodist University. Don has been a member of such dedicated comics research societies as the CFA-apa, apa-I, kappa alpha, the Grand Comics Database group, and others. His articles on comic art have been published in Comic Book Artist, Robin Snyder's the Comics, The Charlton Spotlight, at Comicartville and other comics-related websites. Mangus wrote and drew the comic book "Crime and Passion" in 1994, published by Mango Press. Some of Mangus' other comic book creations include characters such as "Bitter Bob" and "The Marked Man".

Don Mangus works as an Art Expert and Cataloguer in the Comic Book and Fine Art divisions at Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas, Texas.
